Man City and Chelsea are set to compete for the signature of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, according to reports.
The Daily Star claim that the two clubs are “planning” bids for the England international at the end of the season.
City manager Pep Guardiola is said to rate Anderson very highly and he would be keen to bring him to the Etihad next summer under the right circumstances.

At the moment, Guardiola has plenty of options in the middle of the park, but there is uncertainty about the futures of several players.
Bernardo Silva is expected to leave the Cityzens when his contract expires at the end of the season, while there are also doubts about the futures of both Rodri and Nico Gonzalez. In that context, the interest in Anderson does make a lot sense.
Man City will have to get the chequebook out
Nottingham Forest paid Newcastle £35m for Anderson at the start of last season, and they are set to demand over double that figure now.
The Daily Star suggest a fee in the region of £75m could be needed to secure the 22-year-old’s services.
Guardiola is by no means the only one who rates Anderson
Speaking last week about Anderson’s performances for England, Arsenal star Declan Rice was fulsome in his praise of his international teammate:
“He has taken it all in his stride and is playing like he plays for his club. When you have a lad who is that confident and comes in and feels he does not have to do anything different, it’s like autopilot the way he plays.”
Anderson was handed his first England cap by Thomas Tuchel against Andorra last month, and he has started the three subsequent fixtures against Serbia, Wales and Latvia.
