The Giants will see a familiar face across the field when they travel to Denver for their Week 7 matchup against the Broncos.
There on the opposing sideline will be former Giants backup quarterback Davis Webb, who is in his third season as Broncos quarterbacks coach. And he’ll see the first QB he worked with after becoming a coach: Russell Wilson.
“I thought Davis was great,” Wilson said, via the New York Post. “He’s extremely intelligent. He is passionate about the work. I always heard that he was coaching while he was playing. You feel his preparation, his mentality and his know-how of playing the position.”
The Giants picked Webb in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent 2018 with the Jets then had a stint with the Bills before returning to the Giants in 2022. He made his first regular season NFL start in the Giants season finale against the Eagles that year, because they had already secured the No. 6 seed in the NFC East In that game, he threw a touchdown pass to Kenny Golladay and added another rushing.
After that season, he was hired as Broncos quarterbacks coach.
