Barcelona have suffered a major setback ahead of their La Liga match against Girona, as Ferran Torres has been ruled out of the game, according to SPORT.
The forward missed Friday’s final training session, confirming that he will not feature in the match immediately after the international break.
It must be noted that Ferran had returned early from the Spanish national team camp due to an “overload in the hamstring muscles of the left leg, without associated injury.”
Although the club initially assured that he “is not out and will follow specific treatment,” the discomfort has persisted.
Yesterday, we reported that Ferran informed Hansi Flick about the lingering issue, and the coaching staff have decided not to risk the forward, who is currently one of the players in the best form in the squad.
The German coach is prioritising caution to avoid any setbacks in his recovery.

On a brighter note, the outlet confirms that Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal have returned to full training with the group and are aiming to receive medical clearance ahead of the weekend’s Catalan derby.
Their return provides a boost to Flick, who will need his attacking options at full strength to face Girona.
To supplement the squad, Flick has also called up seven players from Barcelona B.
These include Diego Kochen, Eder Aller, Xavi Espart, Jofre Torrents, Pedro Fernandez, Juan Hernandez, and Toni Fernandez.
Their inclusion ensures squad depth and gives the coach flexibility while managing injuries and fitness issues.
Barcelona will now need to adjust their tactics without Ferran, relying on the remaining forwards and talented young players from La Masia.
With key players returning and promising youngsters called up, Barça will look to bounce back and secure a positive result at Montjuic, despite the absence of one of their in-form attackers.
