Simon Jordan delivers another Brendan Rodgers dig amid 'curious' Nottingham Forest admiration

**Simon Jordan is ‘curious’ as to why Nottingham Forest owner is an admirer of Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.**

Rodgers is in the final year of his Celtic contract and 67 Hail Hail understands he and the club hierarchy are not close to agreeing fresh terms.

talkSPORT reported on Thursday that Rodgers could leave Celtic next summer and open the door to a Premier League return.

Meanwhile, Rodgers had been linked with the managerial post at Forest before Celtic hero Ange Postecoglou replaced the sacked Nuno Espirito Santo.

It was reported by The Sun that owner Evangelos Marinakis is a fan of Rodgers and ‘had his sights on Rodgers for months’.

Postecoglou is under severe pressure to deliver, however, and Rodgers’ name has cropped up again, although it is very unlikely he will leave Celtic before next summer.

talkSPORT mouthpiece Simon Jordan doesn’t particularly like Rodgers and recently accused the Northern Irishman of blaming everyone else but himself and allegedly ‘distancing himself’ from Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson.

Now, Jordan has come after Rodgers again by questioning Marinakis’ admiration for the Celtic manager.

Jordan said live on talkSPORT: “I can see it in Brendan’s eyes, yeah (going back to Premier League). Because that’s probably where he wants to be.

“Obviously it suited him to go back to Celtic because the Leicester ship was sinking and he didn’t fancy that any more.

“And when he left Celtic, the Leicester opportunity was bigger than the Celtic opportunity and he didn’t fancy that one at Celtic anymore.

“So he probably doesn’t fancy it at Celtic anymore and probably fancies it at somewhere in the Premier League. I’m curious to see why Marinakis is a huge admirer of Brendan.

“That would be a curious situation to have explained to me, exactly what he admires about Brendan, in conjunction with Nottingham Forest doing something meaningful in the Premier League.

“What I’m saying is, ultimately, I’m curious to see why the conversation about Brendan is then permeated with the expression that he’s an admirer of Brendan Rodgers, how we know that, where that has come from and why that is the case.”
