FC Barcelona have confirmed that Ferran Torres will miss the upcoming La Liga clash against Girona, but the decision is purely precautionary.
It must be noted that the 25-year-old forward is dealing with lingering discomfort from a hamstring overload in his left leg, which he sustained during the recent international break.
The club released an official statement noting,
“First team player Ferran Torres will miss tomorrow’s match against Girona as a precaution, due to discomfort stemming from the hamstring overload in his left leg, sustained during the international break.”
Ferran had returned early from the Spanish national team’s training camp due to the overload.
Both Barcelona and the Spanish Federation clarified that it was “an overload in the hamstring muscles of the left leg without associated injury.”
Despite this, the discomfort has persisted, preventing the attacker from recovering in time to feature against Girona at Montjuïc.

Ferran’s absence adds to the challenges already facing Hansi Flick, with other offensive options also limited.
Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski remain sidelined, leaving the team with fewer experienced attacking players.
Beyond Lamine Yamal, only Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji are currently available for the front line.
Meanwhile, Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez could provide additional attacking options, but Olmo continues to struggle with injury, and Fermin has only recently returned after being sidelined for several weeks due to similar physical issues.
Flick now faces a careful balancing act as Barcelona resume club competition following the October international break.
The manager will need to manage the workload of returning players while ensuring the team maintains its attacking threat against Girona.
