Newcastle United fans may suddenly have a better idea as to when they will see Yoane Wissa make his Toon debut.
The 29-year-old signed for the club on deadline day, becoming one of Newcastle’s most expensive signings ever at £55million.
Newcastle overspent on Yoane Wissa, but it was a case of needs must. The Magpies simply had to buy another striker to accommodate Nick Woltemade’s start to life on Tyneside.
However, Woltemade has had to learn on the job due to Wissa’s injury. The DR Congo international is yet to feature for his new club, having suffered a knee problem while representing his country.
Eddie Howe has confirmed that Wissa is back on the grass, which is a significant step towards his recovery. However, it will still be a while before he is in action for his new employers.

Newcastle United think Yoane Wissa could return against Brentford
The initial hope had been that Yoane Wissa would return against West Ham on 2nd November. However, even that game could come too soon for the former Brentford forward.
That is according to the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, who has said on his YouTube channel that the tentative plan within the club is for Wissa to make his Newcastle United debut against the side they bought him from one week later.
“We were expecting to see Yoane Wissa towards the end of October,” he said.

“That has now gone into the start of November. My understanding is it is not West Ham in the first week of November, but rather the soft target is more likely Brentford, back at his former club, one week after on November 9th.”
Yoane Wissa could endure toxic Newcastle United debut
It would be quite the story if Wissa made his Toon debut against the club he forced a move out of during the summer.
Wissa will not be welcomed back to the Gtech Community Stadium with open arms. Instead, he will likely be showered with boos. Just like Alexander Isak did at Newcastle, Wissa took matters into his own hands as he engineered a transfer away.
Brentford supporters will not be quick to forget about what Wissa did, and will likely relish the opportunity to let him know how they feel.
That will only pile more pressure on Newcastle’s number nine, who is desperate to prove his worth to his new club. The Magpies spent a huge amount of money on Wissa, but are yet to get any value for money.
That will not change for another few weeks, with Wissa potentially missing another six games.
