Defensa Central: Modric plotting Real Madrid return after finishing at Milan – the details

Luka Modric has already decided what he will do when he leaves AC Milan, be that next year or in 2027, a report claims.

Modric has been nothing short of a revelation since he arrived at Milan. His performance levels and his standard-setting on and off the pitch have helped instantly rejuvenate a side that finished eighth in the league last season, with Massimiliano Allegri’s help of course.

Modric wants Real Madrid return

According to Defensa Central, Modric planned to leave Milan after the World Cup, although he could stay for another year after feeling at a great level and very comfortable in the team. As a reminder, his deal is a one-year contract with an option for another year that the player will have a say in.

However, the Croatian doesn’t want to wait too long to accept Florentino Perez’s offer to return to Madrid, either as an ambassador or as a coach. Luka’s idea is to have a sabbatical year, to spend time with his family as soon as he leaves Milan, then return to the Spanish capital.

He will start the necessary courses to be able to coach in the Madrid youth academy, something that stimulates him a lot, since working with the younger players is one of his first aspirations when he starts in coaching.

For now, this is Modrić’s idea, although it could change. We mustn’t forget that the Croatian is already 40 years old, and continuing to play requires a lot of energy physically and mentally. For now though he is happy at Milan, and Milan are very happy with him.
