Tom Brady Teases Major Announcement Outside the NFL

Tom Brady retired as the NFL's most decorated quarterback after a 23-season playing career split between the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, finishing with 89,214 passing yards and 649 touchdown passes, seven Super Bowl titles, five Super Bowl MVPs, three AP MVP awards and 15 Pro Bowl selections.

Brady has the most career wins for an NFL quarterback, is the only player to win Super Bowl MVP with two different franchises and the only QB to win a Super Bowl in three different decades.

In the eyes of many, he’s the undisputed G.O.A.T. (“Greatest Of All Time”).

After retiring, Brady inked a long-term on-air deal with Fox Sports as a lead NFL analyst and signed a reported 10-year agreement, positioning him as a major media figure while also taking a minority ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.

On Friday, however, Brady teased an exciting new move away from football.

Brady posted a short Instagram clip in which he said, "You know what, I think I'm ready for another roast,” teasing a possible Oct. 21 date. When one individual behind the camera asks, “You sure about that TB?” Brady responds, “Yeah, I think I can handle it. You don’t think I can?”

The post was captioned, “Just like my rings, one wasn't enough. 10.21 🔥."

Netflix staged “The Roast of Tom Brady” as a high-profile, live-format roast in May 2024 that assembled comedians, former teammates and celebrities to lampoon Brady's career, private life and relationships.

The special was hosted by comedian Kevin Hart and “roastmaster general” Jeff Ross and ran for three hours, featuring jokes about “Skygate,” “Deflategate,” Brady’s Super Bowl losses to rival Eli Manning and more.

In the months after, Brady expressed regret about elements of the roast, saying he underestimated how some jokes would affect his children and calling parts of the experience tough on his kids.

After a widely discussed, sometimes controversial first roast that drew more than 2 million viewers, a high-profile move into broadcasting and reported dating rumors linking Brady to big-time celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Sydney Sweeney and others, a follow-up roast could legitimately break the internet.

The Instagram tease on Friday is the clearest signal yet that Brady and his partners are considering another major media event; no official date, platform or producers have been confirmed at the time of writing.
