The Green Bay Packers seem to be reaping the rewards of the Micah Parsons trade, holding a 3-1-1 record and sitting atop the NFC North after a dominant defensive stretch to open the season. Head coach Matt LaFleur and his staff are now calling on NFL officials to take a closer look at the fouls committed against Parsons in Week 7.
Every time Micah Parsons takes the field, the same scene unfolds. Offensive linemen grab at his uniform or facemask just to keep him from blowing past them. The issue is that officials often overlook these clear infractions, allowing opponents to bend the rules against one of the NFL’s most explosive pass rushers.
The issue has become a source of growing irritation for Packers fans, though Parsons is no stranger to it. During his stint with the Cowboys, the team often voiced similar frustrations. Now, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur appears ready to address the problem in his own way.

According to The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur intends to meet with officials in Arizona before Sunday’s matchup. The team hopes to draw attention to possible holding violations against Micah Parsons.
“That’s definitely going to be a conversation pregame,” said the Packers head coach.
It’s a sensible approach and probably the only action LaFleur can take right now. He didn’t confirm if the Packers have sent any clips to the league office, something the Cowboys previously did when they faced a similar issue.

Bringing the issue to the officials’ attention is a good start. Making them aware of how obvious the holding has become might force them to call it more consistently. LaFleur knows that holding happens on nearly every play, but he also recognizes that some missed calls have simply been too blatant to ignore.
Parsons didn’t draw a single holding flag against the Bengals in Week 6. Through five games, the star pass rusher has recorded 11 tackles and two and a half sacks, numbers that fall short of his usual production.
Still, Parsons continues to influence games in other ways, even when he isn’t piling up sacks.

Parsons constantly commands attention from opposing offenses, often becoming the focal point of their game plans. The Packers have been encouraged by what they’ve seen on film, noting how much effort and how many resources teams dedicate to trying to neutralize him.
It will be worth watching whether Parsons finally gets some holding calls in his favor during Green Bay’s next matchup. The Packers face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 4:25 PM ET.
