Nottingham Forest could look to hire Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers next year amid growing uncertainty over his future in Scotland, journalist Alex Crook has revealed.
The City Ground outfit are not ruling out another change in the dugout following Ange Postecoglou’s difficult start at the club, with the Australian tactician winless in his first seven games in charge.
While Rodgers is unlikely to entertain any offers mid-season, there is increasing expectation he will depart Celtic in the summer when his contract expires.
The 52-year-old was linked with a move to Forest this summer, before the Premier League side sacked Nuno Espirito Santo, and is appreciated internally at the club.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is said to be a long-term admirer of Rodgers and could consider hiring the Northern Irish coach at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

According to Crook, there is a sense Rodgers could seek a fresh challenge next summer, with several Premier League clubs viewed as potential destinations:
“We could be talking, come the summer, of a bit of a managerial merry-go-round because Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace is coming to the end of his contract, Marco Silva at Fulham [is too].
“And Andoni Iraola, very sought after by some top clubs, is in the same situation at Bournemouth.
“You would think all of this trio would be interested in a manager with the CV of Brendan Rodgers.
“And don't rule out Nottingham Forest either – because Evangelos Marinakis has been a long-term admirer of Brendan Rodgers and obviously Ange Postecoglou is still on a very sticky wicket there.”
Rodgers guided Celtic to back-to-back league titles after first joining the club in 2016 and departed in the middle of his third season for Leicester City.
He oversaw more than 200 games in charge of the Foxes before being axed in the 2022/23 campaign, during which Leicester suffered relegation from the Premier League.
The former Liverpool boss returned to Celtic Park the following summer and secured another pair of league titles in the last two seasons, taking his total tally of trophies to 11 in Scotland.
Looking to make it three in a row under Rodgers this season, Celtic have been below their best so far and currently sit second in the league table, two points behind leaders Hearts.
The Hoops also missed out on Champions League qualification after a shock defeat to Kazakh side FC Kairat and remain winless in their Europa League campaign after two games.
Forest are not faring much better on their return to European football, having taken just one point from their first two Europa League games.
The City Ground outfit also remain winless in the Premier League under Postecoglou, sitting 17th in the table after seven games, and next face Chelsea at home on Saturday.
