Luke Shaw shares what‘the most important thing’ is at Man Utd right now

Luke Shaw has played a key role for Manchester United this season, starting on the left side of the back three.

After spending the majority of last season injured, Luke Shaw has been a pretty regular feature of Ruben Amorim’s starting line-up this campaign.

This however hasn’t meant he’s deserved to start, with Roy Keane slamming Shaw for his Manchester derby display, with the ongoing absence of Lisandro Martinez seeing the Englishman tough to drop.

Luke Shaw desperate for Manchester United consistency

Shaw is United’s longest serving player, having joined 11 years ago back in 2014 under Louis van Gaal.

Due to his experience, Rio Ferdinand has explained Shaw has strong standing at United, which often sees the defender speaking about what he wants his teammates to show.

Speaking with Stan Sport this week, Shaw has now urged his teammates to improve consistency, admitting it is the key thing United must improve.

“For us, the most important thing is about consistency. At the moment, we’re winning one game and losing the next. We’ve spoken about it a lot, building good momentum and winning games.

“The most important thing is building momentum and getting points. Sometimes performances don’t matter if you’re winning games, and winning games is always a better feeling.

“The morale of the team is always better when you’re winning games, and that’s the base we need to build on, consistency.”

Manchester United’s consistency can be built through confidence

There have been huge improvements over the past few months, with Shaw explaining Amorim’s demands, which have overseen United’s performances this season which have been much better than the league table suggests.

However, consistency is yet to arrive, however it could be just around the corner.

United have solved the goalkeeping issue with Senne Lammens, which leaves Amorim waiting for consistency in front of goal, something which is overdue.

United sit first for expected goals this season, underperforming by around 5.1 xG, which is mostly coming from players who are capable of being clinical in front of goal such as Matheus Cunha, Amad and Bruno Fernandes.

Consistency and consecutive wins will come for United, its a matter of time.
