“I was blindsided by an off-field injury that was beyond my control,” Bell wrote. He didn’t elaborate on specifics. He didn’t need to.
The former Purdue star caught 232 passes for 2,955 yards and 21 touchdowns across three college seasons. Cleveland drafted him 99th overall in 2022. He played three seasons with the Browns before calling it quits mid-season.
His NFL numbers tell one story. Thirty-two games. Forty-one catches. 408 yards. Three touchdowns.
But the stats don’t capture the full picture. Bell battled through roster moves in Cleveland.
The Browns waived him in September, signed him to the practice squad, then promoted him back to the active roster.
