Will Stefon Diggs play vs. Titans? Patriots coach Mike Vrabel offers update

The Patriots may be without Stefon Diggs in Tennessee this weekend.

After being limited in practice this week with a chest injury, Diggs will be listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Titans, per coach Mike Vrabel.

Diggs has been New England’s leading receiver in receptions (32) and yards (387) this season, catching 86.5% of his targets. If he’s not able to go, it’d obviously be a significant loss for the passing game, but Vrabel expressed confidence in the depth chart behind the star receiver, too.

“They’ve all shown that when given opportunities, they’ve all made plays,” Vrabel said. “All contribute. Everybody here we have a high level of confidence in to be able to do their job.”

New England will also designate three defensive players as questionable: Cornerback Charles Woods (knee), safety Jaylinn Hawkins (hamstring) and edge rusher Harold Landry (ankle). That could spoil a homecoming for Landry, who spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Titans, including six with Vrabel.

“I’ve been with Harold for a long time,” Vrabel said. “I’ve watched him grow. I’ve watched him get married. I’ve watched him have kids. I’ve watched his kids grow up. I’ve watched them play baseball and then they’ve got football now. He’s got a great family. There’s a good balance to what he does. His family is important to him, which I appreciate. When he’s here he works. He comes in early and he’s diligent and he works. When he goes home he appreciates his family.

“He’s a professional,” Vrabel added. “You don’t have to track him down. You don’t have to worry that he’s going to be in the weight room or in treatment. He’s versatile. (He did) a lot for us in Tennessee and now doing that here. So he’s been a good addition to his football team.”
