Rams Get Major Update on Puka Nacua's Return Timeline

The Los Angeles Rams will be without superstar wide receiver Puka Nacua in Sunday’s Week 7 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Nacua suffering a left ankle injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s Week 6 win over the Baltimore Ravens. He was able to return in the third quarter, but failed to record a single target to close out the 17-3 win.

Following Sunday’s matchup with the Jaguars, the Rams will enter their bye in Week 8. On Friday, head coach Sean McVay told reporters he’s “optimistic” Nacua will be able to return to the field after the bye.

"He’s making good progress. I am very optimistic about hopefully having him ready after the bye. I think it’ll serve him well and I have confidence in our other receivers to be able to step up,” McVay said, via ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Entering Sunday’s Week 6 win over the Ravens, Nacua led the NFL in both reception and receiving yards. Despite missing time this past weekend, the third-year WR has 54 catches for 616 yards and two touchdowns. He also has 52 yards and another TD score as a rushing weapon for the Rams.

Veteran wide receiver Davante Adams will be asked to step up as the No. 1 wide receiver weapon for Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ offense in Sunday’s matchup against the Jaguars.

Behind Adams, the Los Angeles WR depth chart is rounded out by Jordan Whittington, Tutu Atwell, Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield.

The Rams are 4-2 to start the 2025 NFL season, holding first place in the NFC West. The team’s first game back after the Week 8 bye will be a Week 9 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

Sunday’s international matchup against the Jaguars will kickoff at 9:30 a.m. ET from London’s Wembley Stadium.
