Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of former Barcelona attacking sensation Vitor Roque.
After failing to establish himself at Barcelona, Vitor Roque has revived his career following his return to Brazil. His impressive performances for Palmeiras have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.
According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea are keen on signing the 20-year-old Brazilian international. The Blues are looking to add more firepower to their attack and consider the young striker an ideal fit for their project.
On the back of his sensational rise at Athletico PR, Vitor Roque joined Barcelona at the start of 2024. He was expected to be the next big thing. However, things didn’t go according to plan, as he failed to cement his spot in the team.
Struggling to adapt to the demands of playing for Barcelona, he was eventually sent out on loan to Real Betis. But even that move didn’t work out, and he returned to Brazil at the start of 2025.
Palmeiras forked out around €25 million to sign him, with the Catalan giants retaining a decent percentage of his future sale. Returning to his homeland has worked in favour of the 20-year-old, who has 16 goals and four assists in his 45 outings across competitions this season.
Roque could return to Europe in 2026
His impressive performances have once again put him on the radar of European giants, with Chelsea among the clubs very keen on signing him. Despite adding Joao Pedro and Liam Delap to their squad in the last summer window, the Blues are still in the market for more quality in the final third.
They consider Vitor Roque an ideal fit for their project and are ready to make a move for him. The London club continues to monitor him closely ahead of a potential transfer.
The 20-year-old’s impressive outing against Chelsea at the Club World Cup helped him regain prominence across Europe. While the Blues are eager to secure his services, they won’t find it easy to strike a deal with Palmeiras.
The Brazilian club would ideally like to keep him for another season. Even if they agree to negotiate his departure next summer, they are expected to demand a significant fee, given his contract runs until 2029, and a percentage of his sale will go to the Catalan giants.
