Former Newcastle United youngster Bobby Clark is set for another major move in 2026.
The midfielder made headlines when he swapped Newcastle United for Liverpool in 2021. It was a big transfer at the time, and it signified the desperate situation that the Magpies were in during the final months of Mike Ashley’s reign as owner.
Bobby Clark chose to join Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp making the move to bring him to Anfield. He then went on to be part of that incredibly young Reds side that beat Chelsea in the 2024 Carabao Cup final.
Now things have changed for Clark. He left Liverpool to join Red Bull Salzburg in 2024. One year later, he was on the move again.
Clark signed for Derby County on loan, despite being offered to Newcastle United.
Newcastle chose not to sign Clark, who is now set to change clubs again just months after joining the Rams on a temporary deal.

Bobby Clark set to sign for Celtic in January
After missing out on a return to St James’ Park, Clark is set to take his talents north of the border.
That is according to the Times, who report that Clark is set to sign for Celtic for a fee of £6million when the January transfer window opens.

The Times add that the 20-year-old is eager to make a permanent return to the United Kingdom, having moved to Austria in 2024.
It appears that Celtic are going to make Clark’s wish come true, as they aim to win a fifth consecutive Scottish Premiership.
Lee Clark wants Bobby Clark to return to Newcastle United
If Clark does complete a transfer to Celtic in January, the Hoops will become the third permanent club of his professional career.
The youngster’s father, Lee Clark, will hope there is at least one more club added to his professional CV, with the former Newcastle United midfielder keen to see his son return to St James’ Park.
During an interview in 2024, Clark said he wants his son to rejoin Newcastle United in the future.
“Absolutely,” he said.
“I don’t know how many fathers and sons have done it for the club. I was lucky enough to do it 265 times.
“Who knows, he might have to do an Alan Shearer and come back. But yeah, that would be my ultimate dream. Definitely.”
Whether or not that happens may largely depend on how Clark performs at Celtic.
The Chronicle reported in the summer that he would have signed for Newcastle United as a squad player, but Eddie Howe’s side turned down the opportunity to bring him back to Tyneside.
