TBR Football understand Chelsea are pleased with Jamie Gittens, despite his difficult transition to the Premier League this season.
Chelsea paid £48million for Gittens during the summer transfer window following his impressive run of form for Borussia Dortmund, but the transition hasn’t been the smoothest.
The tricky winger has yet to score a goal or assist for the Blues this season, leading to some question marks from fans in the early stages of the season.

However, while there might be concern in the terraces, there are no worries taking place within the football club at this stage.
Exclusive: Chelsea are ‘happy’ with how Jamie Gittens has adapted
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has exclusively revealed that Chelsea are pleased with the way all the young players have adapted this season, including Gittens.
“The competition for places at Chelsea is fierce. Gittens’ break probably came at the wrong time for him; he was just starting to get a look-in.
“People forget that although he’s English, he doesn’t have Premier League experience. He was coming from the Bundesliga, and that’s not always an easy transition.
“But there are no issues there. Chelsea are happy with how all their young players have adapted.”
Gittens showcased his potential to Enzo Maresca during the international break, representing England Under-21s with a couple of impressive performances.
The 21-year-old provided a goal in one game and an assist for fellow Chelsea youngster Tyrique George in the other, giving fans a glimpse of what he can offer this season.
Cole Palmer’s lengthy injury could open up opportunities for Jamie Gittens
The last thing that Chelsea fans want to see is more injury news after such a tough start to the season from a fitness perspective. But Maresca has confirmed Cole Palmer will be out for another six weeks.
While it’s a huge blow for Maresca to be without his talisman, Palmer’s injury opens opportunities for other squad members, including Gittens.
Gittens isn’t a number 10 like Palmer; other players, such as Estevao Willian, will likely be pulled into that position, which could allow him to get more minutes out wide.
Regular playing time is something that would benefit Gittens at this stage, but given that Chelsea are already impressed by his performances, there are no panic stations at this point.
