On September 2nd, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Inter Milan had rejected two Crystal Palace offers for Yann Bisseck last summer.
The Eagles were said to have offered around €42m, which didn’t convince Inter. The 24-year-old was also not keen on a move to Selhurst Park.
Four days ago, Tuttosport stated Crystal Palace are lining up to sign Bisseck in the winter market. They also reported the FA Cup winners could offer Marc Guéhi as part of the deal.
FcInter1908.it now highlight that along with Crystal Palace, the Germany international has also been linked to Eintracht Frankfurt.
They have also relayed comments made by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio to Wettfreunde on Bisseck’s situation. He dismisses a move to the Bundesliga club in the near future.
Crystal Palace target being hyped
Di Marzio also claims Crystal Palace could make another attempt to sign the centre-back in January. He adds there are two major problems for the Premier League club to get this deal over the line.
“I can’t imagine Bisseck leaving in January. Inter are highly interested in him,” he said.
“The transfer fee would be at least €35-40m, an amount Eintracht won’t spend in January. Crystal Palace could potentially make a move in January to replace Marc Guehi if he were to leave the club.”
“After his time at Inter and the titles he won, Bisseck won’t accept clubs at that level, with all due respect to those clubs. He wants to play for clubs at the level of Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich. When you’ve won titles with Inter and reached the Champions League final with them, it’s harder to accept a lower level.”
It looks like Di Marzio is trying to create more hype around the defender, either to help him attract top clubs or get a better deal from Crystal Palace.
Bisseck played 154 minutes from two matches this season. Recent claims from elsewhere have reported he wants to change clubs in January.
Although Di Marzio presents two factors as big problems for Crystal Palace, that may not really be the case.
The German needs regular minutes to retain hope of representing his country at the next World Cup. Crystal Palace could offer that to him.
