Neeskens Kebano, once of Fulham, has heaped praise on manager Marco Silva, insisting he’s the type of boss all players want to work under.
[Top Mercato have an interview](https://www.topmercato.com/1937837-neeskens-kebano-jaurais-pu-revenir-en-ligue-1-plusieurs-fois-lol-setait-renseigne-exclu/) with the forward as he continues his career in the UAE Pro League.
He officially moved there in 2023, first joining Al-Jazira on a free transfer after being released by Fulham. He then moved to Qadsia SC in September.
Kebano had been at Fulham since 2016, when he joined them in a €4.45m deal from Genk. He went on to make 160 appearances from that point onwards, with 24 goals and 18 assists in all of them.
61 of those appearances came under Marco Silva, with the Portuguese coach including Kebano in his plans when he took charge in 2021. Kebano had actually returned to Fulham that summer, after a loan spell at Middlesbrough in the second half of the 2020/21 season.
He perhaps would have had more appearances under Silva too had it not been for an Achilles tendon rupture in November 2022 that saw him miss 27 games for Fulham and DR Congo.
Fulham manager always picks the best
------------------------------------
He spent enough time under Silva at Craven Cottage to be left with a very positive impression of the Fulham coach, though.
“He’s always been honest with me, from the start,” he said.
“We met again in July, when they were in training camp. We chatted a little. He joked with me, saying I could come back, as I was out of contract at the time. I really wish him the best. He’s a great coach in the making.
“Still young. He’s already done some great things. I think he can go even higher. He’s really the kind of coach that every player who wants to improve wants to have.
“He doesn’t hesitate to play the best players, the players who are in form. He’s honest. That’s everything I like in a coach.”
