A look at Newcastle United’s injury list and when each player is expected to return to action.

The Magpies are understood to have come through the two-week international relatively unscathed, although Brazil reported a groin issue for Joelinton while Lewis Miley withdrew from England under-21s squad with a calf complaint.

However, the hope is that neither player will be sidelined as a result.

Jacob Ramsey has returned to training following seven games out with an ankle problem, while Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento and Yoane Wissa remain unavailable.

We take a look at Newcastle’s injury list in full and when each player is expected to return:

Yoane Wissa

Wissa joined from Brentford for £55million on September 1 but just over a week later suffered a knee injury on international duty with the Democratic Republic of Congo. The 29-year-old is yet to make his debut for Newcastle.

What’s been said?

Speaking on Friday, Howe said: “Yeah, so we've seen Yoane back on the grass, which is, well, the first time on the grass, which is great to see. And I think his knees reacted pretty well to that work so far. So it will now be a case of trying to step him up gradually.

“Yeah, in terms of timelines, similar to what I said last time, I get confused with the dates as to where we were, but nothing's changed.

“He's been managed by the physio team and the doctors really well so far. He's responded well to the treatment. I think the specialist initially gave him a diagnosis of six to eight weeks and he's on track for that.

“We were obviously trying to work towards the six but it looks like it's going to be more towards the eight, as I said before but there's been no issues. I know there's been a lot of media noise around his injury but a lot of that's been false information. So we're just working towards that timescale.”

Expected return date

Brentford (A), 09/11.

Jacob Ramsey

Ramsey was making his first start for Newcastle following his £55million move from Aston Villa when he sustained an ankle injury in the goalless draw at Leeds United on August 30.

The midfielder returned to training ahead of the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest last Sunday but was left out of the squad.

What’s been said?

Speaking on Friday, Howe said: “Yeah, JJ has had a couple of training sessions and trained well, but we didn't want to push him too early because of his lack of training time. He's trained in the break and looked good. Yeah, pleased with where he is currently.”

Expected return date

Brighton & Hove Albion (A), 18/10.

Tino Livramento

Newcastle feared the worst when Livramento was stretchered off with a knee injury during the recent defeat to Arsenal.

Livramento suffered an ACL injury when at Southampton but further assessment has revealed the full-back has avoided a repeat, though will still miss up to eight weeks of action.

What’s been said?

Howe said: “So far, so good, I think. For Tino, he's out of the brace that he was in. Every time I speak to him, he seems positive about his return. So I don't think there'll be any massive changes to the timeframe that he was given. But I think he's moving in the right direction.”

Expected return date

Manchester City (H) 22/11 or Marseille (A) 25/11.

Lewis Hall

Hall felt his hamstring during the 4-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise in the Champions League.

What’s been said?

Speaking on Friday, Howe said: “Yes, the second scan was good news. There were different scales of time he could be out, it's the shorter time. So we hope he'll be back during this period of games we have before the next international break.

“We don't know exactly when that will be, but we expect him to, if he doesn't suffer any ill effects from anything that he's doing, to be back at some stage. And as I said from the first scan, that might not have been possible.

“So good news, he's such an important player for us and hopefully we can keep him fit.”

Expected return date

Joelinton

Brazil reported a groin injury for Joelinton after he linked up with his country for games in South Korea and Japan.

What’s been said?

Howe said on Friday: “Yeah, I think everyone's come back OK. We were a little bit concerned over Joelinton, but he seems to have come back OK and hopefully he'll train today.

“We were led to believe that there was an issue with his groin, but I think he's come back and said he's fine.”

Expected return date

Brighton & Hove Albion (A), 18/10.

Lewis Miley

Miley withdrew from the England under-21s squad earlier earlier this week with a calf complaint.

What’s been said?

There has been no official update as such but club sources hope Miley will be available for the trip to Brighton on Saturday, with his withdrawal from international duty more precautionary than anything else.

Expected return date

Brighton & Hove Albion (A), 18/10.
