Kevin Durant Reveals Key To Winning NBA Championships

Kevin Durant is now a member of the Houston Rockets, and his team has a singular goal for 2025-26: winning an NBA championship.

Durant has high hopes for Houston, but he’s also realistic about what it takes to earn a title.

“You have to score baskets if you want to win a championship… Playing defense, we can get any of y’all in here to bend your legs… that’s easy. That’s why I work so much in my game. If you want to win, you gotta make shots,” Durant said.

To be fair, a team needs both offense and defense to become champions, but Durant is more focused on scoring.

That’s a smart approach for him, considering he’s one of the best shooters of all time.

No matter where he is on the court, Durant has a natural ability to get the ball in the basket, and many analysts believe he is the most gifted scorer in the league.

That is one of the major reasons why the Rockets wanted him.

However, the team will need more than Durant’s solid shooting if they wish to make the Finals this year.

Their defense will have to improve, specifically in their conference.

The West is filled with squads, such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, that have punishing offensive plans.

The Rockets can score a lot, but that won’t mean much if they aren’t shutting down their opponents.

Durant knows what he brings to the team, and he feels his offense can give the Rockets a major boost.

But if Houston is only focused on shooting well, they probably won’t reach their lofty goals in 2025-26.
