Gabriel Martinelli says where Liverpool superstar Mo Salah ranks amongst the world's best wingers

Gabriel Martinelli and Mohamed Salah are in opposition for the Premier League title, but the Brazilian has shown his respect to him.

Last season, Liverpool picked up the league title after a brilliant first season by Arne Slot, where he was able to lead the team to an early victory in April as they beat rivals Arsenal to the punch.

It seems the rivalry between the two to get their hands on the title will continue this season, and already the Gunners have been seen to take an early one-point advantage after the Reds’ back-to-back top-flight defeats.

However, it should not be an issue as Slot looks to turn around this poor form at Anfield against Manchester United, and fans will be expecting Salah to come out firing against the Mancunians.

The Egyptian has not been at his best so far this season, but in all fairness, the team have not been either, and when you look at how he performed last year and throughout his career, there is no doubt he will get back in form.

Gabriel Martinelli names Mohamed Salah in his top three wingers

While he never received a Ballon d’Or for his incredible season, which featured 57 goal contributions in all competitions, fans know he is one of the best in the world.

Clearly, Martinelli also shares this opinion, as the fellow winger was asked by ESPN to name his top three in the world right now, the ‘Egyptian King’ featured alongside two interesting names.

He said: “Vini (Vinicius Junior), B (Bukayo Saka), and Salah.”

It is no surprise to see Salah’s name alongside the likes of Vinicius Junior and Bukayo Saka, which shows that even current players have immense respect for his unbelievable talents.

This weekend will be another intriguing one in the early part of the title race as Mikel Arteta’s side face Fulham and Liverpool host United.

The Premier League title race feels different this year

One thing that has been slightly unusual this season is how the race for the title is being spoken about by the media and fans after only seven games in the top-flight.

Before Liverpool’s two defeats, they were nailed-on to be the winners, and Arsenal were dismissed after losing to the Reds and drawing to Manchester City.

Fast forward to now, and Arteta’s side are being talked about as if they were going to win the whole time, despite claims they did not have enough urgency.

It feels unusual to hear this so early in the season, but it does show now how important obtaining early points is to teams.
