‘Honestly’: Pep Guardiola speaks out about Jack Grealish returning after Everton loan

Jack Grealish’s loan to Everton has been a success for everyone so far.

Everton have got themselves a quality player who has had so much influence in just his short time at the club so far.

Jack Grealish has a manager who lets him play freely, and it has been highly beneficial for him. Meanwhile, Man City are protecting the player’s value by letting him leave to get more game time.

However, the switch is only temporary, and Pep Guardiola has spoken out about the chance for Grealish to return to Man City after this season.

Pep Guardiola keeps door open for Jack Grealish’s return

Ahead of Everton’s trip to Manchester City, Pep Guardiola was asked quite a few questions about Jack Grealish.

The Spaniard has been impressed with Grealish so far this season, and he will be secretly happy that the Englishman is ineligible to play against him.

However, he has also commented on the possibility of returning to Man City following the end of his loan deal.

Guardiola said in his press conference via ESPN, “I think he has a contract for one more year with us. The important thing is he is back. He is a massive influence in the Everton games. After what’s happened, maybe Manchester City wants him back, but I don’t know.

“Many things are still going to happen. We’ll see. The important thing is he is playing again, a lot of minutes. This is the standard. I’m happy, really, honestly, that he’s back in, trying his best.”

It won’t make for good reading for Everton fans, with the Man City boss clearly keeping the door open for Grealish to revive his career at the Etihad.

If the player continues to perform at the current levels, it could be a tough battle to keep him beyond this season.

Everton face battle to keep hold of Jack Grealish

The current finances to secure a permanent deal for Jack Grealish are not ideal for Everton.

Talks are already underway for Grealish to remain at Hill Dickinson past this season.

However, the current price tag of £50 million is way too high for the Toffees due to PSR.

The two clubs will need to negotiate a lower fee, and that could be made harder if Man City start thinking about reintegrating Jack Grealish.

With David Moyes helping him return to his peak, hopefully that will be more than enough for Grealish to want to stay at Everton. That would be a boost in talks.
