Ange Postecoglou has been sacked by Nottingham Forest to mark the shortest managerial reign in Premier League history.

This timing is remarkable! Ange Postecoglou SACKED by Nottingham Forest minutes after defeat!
Postecoglou leaves Forest without a win in his eight games after succeeding Nuno Espirito Santo in the dugout on September 9.
Espirito Santo had guided the club to Europa League qualification during an exceptional 2024/25 season, while Postecoglou leaves the club lingering above the relegation zone on 17th.
The 60-year-old has now been dismissed by two Premier League clubs within five months after he was sacked by Spurs.
He was given his marching orders by Spurs shortly after masterminding Tottenham's Europa League success.
Postecoglou ended the club's 17-year trophy drought in the process, but paid the price for finishing 17th in the top-flight.
His poor start at Forest was compounded by disgruntlement in the stands, with fans calling for him to be sacked during their 3-2 Europa League defeat by Midtjylland and booing the full-time whistle during the 3-0 defeat at Chelsea.

Shortest managerial reigns in Premier League history
Postecoglou's dismissal - 39 days after his appointment on 9 September - means he becomes the shortest managerial reign in Premier League history.
His tenure at the City Ground was two days shorter than Les Reed's infamous seven-game spell at Charlton in late 2006.
In fact, the only shorter spell for a permanent Premier League manager was Sam Allardyce's month-long stint at Leeds in 2023.
However, the 70-year-old had only joined the Elland Road club on a short-term deal until the end of the season, with just four matches of the 2022-23 season remaining.
Allardyce then left Leeds by mutual consent after failing to avoid relegation, which leaves Postecoglou at the top of the sack list.

Postecoglou sacked by Nottingham Forest
Postecoglou was thrown into the deep end against Arsenal to kickstart his stint at Forest four days after his appointment.
However, the ex-Spurs gaffer showed the first ominous sign of his doomed tenure, with 3-0 defeats in his first and last match.
They were then knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Swansea City, after throwing away a two-goal lead in a surprise 3-2 loss.

Postecoglou's side followed that up with a draw against promoted Burnley in the Premier League and Real Betis in the Europa League opener, having also led in both games.
Another 3-2 defeat - at home to Midtjylland - failed to stop the rot, with losses on either side of the international break spelling the end.
