Pregame availability report: The latest on Justice Haynes and others for Michigan ahead of…

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Ahead of the Michigan football team's home clash against Washington, the Wolverines released their pregame availability report, indicating which players are out and questionable for the game.

Players the Wolverines listed as OUT include starting tight end Marlin Klein, reserve running back Micah Ka'apana and reserve quarterback Davis Warren. Klein also missed Michigan's second game of the season, but has 12 receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown this season. Additionally, wide receiver I'Marion Stewart, running back Donovan Johnson, linebacker Jaydon Hood, offensive tackle Andrew Babalola, edge Devon Baxter and wide receiver CJ Charleston are all out for the season.

Players Michigan listed as QUESTIONABLE include starting running back Justice Haynes, starting defensive tackle Trey Pierce, potential starting guard Brady Norton and reserve linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng.

Earlier this week, Michigan coach Sherrone Moore listed Haynes as questionable, as he deals with a "side" injury.

"You know, right now, I think he's questionable," Moore said. "There's a chance he'll play, feel good, but, you know, we'll see how he progresses through the week."

Last Saturday marked the first time all season that Haynes did not reach the 100-yard mark as a ball-carrier, and he did not score a rushing touchdown. Entering the game, Haynes was  top-five of power-conference running backs in rushing yards (130.8 per game), yards per carry (7.7), rushing touchdowns (8) and carries of 15 yards or more (9). He also already had five carries of 40 yards or more, which is more than most teams.

In Saturday's loss at USC, Haynes was effective in the first half, carrying the ball 10 times for 55 yards, including four first downs. He only had one carry go for 10 yards or more (a 13-yarder in the second quarter), but he was methodical on two of Michigan's more productive drives.

In his place, Jordan Marshall finished with 14 carries for 68 yards. Marshall will again lead the way for Michigan if Haynes can't go Saturday, and Moore said Bryson Kuzdzal and freshman Jasper Parker would be next up.

"Bryson Kuzdzal is definitely a guy that we'll look at using," Moore said. "Jasper Parker, the young freshman. He's definitely shown flashes of what he can do in fall camp and as we've gone through during the season. And he's got a lot of good carries. He's a big, strong kid. I think he can make the play. So we'll see as he progresses through the week."

Moore was slightly more optimistic about Pierce, who has 15 tackles, nine run stops and seven quarterback pressures this season. After not missing a tackle in Michigan's first five games, however, Pierce had three missed tackles against USC, per Pro Football Focus.

"I think so," Moore said Monday of Pierce returning. "We'll get a better prognosis today and see where he's at. He's played so, so well, but we'll see where he's at today."

Michigan will kick off against the Huskies shortly after Noon, and the game can be found on FOX.
