Trevon Diggs shockingly ruled out for Week 7 after alleged 'at home accident'

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the more interesting teams in the NFL, as this team is quite literally an average NFL defense away from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Dallas is 2-3-1 through their first six games and host the Washington Commanders in Week 7.

A win in Week 7 could really make things interesting in the NFC East, as Dallas' offense is plenty good enough to win the division this year. Ranking third in points scored and 31st in points allowed, Matt Eberflus' unit simply has to play better.

If not, the Cowboys risk another prime year of Dak Prescott going down the drain. Well, the Cowboys did shockingly get Trevon Diggs back into the lineup for Week 1 this year, and he's played in every single game, which is awesome. However, some bombshell news just days before their Week 7 game will keep Diggs out of the lineup.

Trevon Diggs is OUT for the Dallas Cowboys Week 7 showdown

An alleged accident at home leaves Trevon Diggs with a concussion, so he's going to be ruled out for Week 7:

My understanding is Trevon Diggs’ home concussion did not result from a dispute, I’m told. #Cowboys https://t.co/YQSiJbS5pw

Trevon Diggs is one of the most productive cornerbacks in the NFL when healthy, but that's been the main issue with him over the past two seasons, as he played in a combined 13 regular season games in the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In 64 games, Diggs has racked up 20 interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, and 63 passes defended.

He's a two-time Pro Bowler and is simply a player that the Cowboys need on the backend of their defense if they hope to get this unit on the right track. The Cowboys have allowed the second-most receiving yards this year and have allowed 15 receiving touchdowns.

Opposing QBs have a 117 passer rating when playing against the Dallas Cowboys, which is the highest in the NFL. Not having Trevon Diggs in the lineup could allow Commanders' QB Jayden Daniels to have his best game of the season, and unless Dallas can begin stacking wins, the season could unravel.

Trevon Diggs' home accident has left him concussed and out of the Cowboys' lineup for Week 7.
