Everton were handed a 2-0 defeat with Erling Haaland striking twice in the second half, with Pat Nevin insisting fans will be less than impressed with one particular player.
It was a resilient performance in the opening 45 minutes, and the Toffees could have gone into the break a couple of goals up, but missed chances would be punished.
The Toffees headed into the game as underdogs, and defeat, while still disappointing, did not come as much of a shock.
However, those aforementioned missed chances both came from the same player, leaving Pat Nevin to give his verdict on his display.

Pat Nevin says Beto’s performance will leave Everton fans fuming
Pat Nevin was on duty covering the Manchester City vs Everton game on BBC Radio 5 Live, and he believes the performance of Beto will leave fans furious.
Beto had two glaring opportunities to put his side ahead in the first half, but the ball would not rustle the net.
They were two chances that you would expect most Premier League-level strikers to put away with Nevin
Nevin said, “Beto will infuriate the Everton fans. The hold-up play hasn’t been brilliant. He had a chance and a half and wasn’t able to take them – you don’t get that many chances at this level. Then again, you can’t question his work rate; he has had very little help up there.”

The assessment from Nevin is completely fair, and the comments are accurate.
After the two missed chances, Everton fans took to social media to express their frustrations with Beto.
David Moyes is left in a bad situation with his Everton forwards
Unfortunately for David Moyes, he does not have many options in the striker department right now.
Beto is clearly lacking confidence, and the two chances missed will do no good in changing that.
Additionally, Thierno Barry has yet to settle into life in the Premier League. The Scotsman will need to find a solution or a way to get his two strikers firing, or else it could be a long season.

There are a couple of unorthodox fixes he could try, with Carlos Alcaraz tipped as a makeshift number nine option.
Moyes will have a week to think about his options with Everton’s next match being a home game against Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday.
