Ryan Yates has shared what Ange Postecoglou said in the Nottingham Forest dressing room after their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Postecoglou spoke to the players inside the City Ground before being relieved of his duties as head coach. Yates said that a few staff members informed him about the news, with a meeting featuring the squad's leadership group and some of the club's hierarchy then taking place.
The midfielder did not name names, but clarified that Evangelos Marinakis was not present at the meeting. Yates was an unused substitute during the match, but conducted several interviews with the media afterwards.
Asked what Postecoglou said in the dressing room, Yates told the BBC : "He was extremely disappointed with the result, like all of us, really. I went out to do some running and came back into the dressing room, and a few of the boys said he had gone."
Explaining who was part of the meeting to TNT Sports, Yates said: "The leadership group, a few people from upstairs who make big decisions." Asked what was said, he replied: "It was a collective of all the players, but some things I can't say.
"They have our full backing, and we will do everything we can to change it around." Yates also spoke about the relationship Marinakis and the squad have.
"We have a fantastic connection from the dressing room all the way up to Mr Marinakis," he said. "He values our opinions, but at the end of the day, it's always his decision.
"We need to dust ourselves down. Whatever the club do moving forward, they have the full backing of us players in the dressing room, that's for sure."
When giving his reaction to the news, Yates conceded: "I am used to quite a lot of change in managers."
