Hurzeler speaks about trying to handle Newcastle’s new number nine

Fabian Hurzeler saluted the transition of a compatriot to life in the English top tier.

The **Brighton**boss is very familiar Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade from his time in Germany, and the club record signing is silencing the doubters. Against Nottingham Forest, he became only the third player to score in his first three home Premier League games for the Toon.

It is not a surprise to Hurzeler, who has been devising a plan to try and stifle his influence.

“I knew him since a long time and my assistant coach Daniel like worked with him. I was all really interested in in his development because he is something special how he plays for his height.

*“He's very tall, but he still has unbelievable technical execution in tight spaces and how he uses body in effective ways is impressive. And these are all like things he you need to have to survive in in the Premier League and how fast he adapted to the intensity to the demands of the Premier League.*

“I can speak from my own experience. It's really tough for our young players, for our new players coming from a different league and how fast he did it is impressive and it shows his quality.

“There are patterns from Newcastle that we have to take care of. He's a target player. Every time they play a long ball in their own half, he's the link player the target player every time they attack the box, he's a danger in in the opponent's box. So, we need to have a good box defending.

“We need to be like really tight on him. We shouldn't give him a one against one against our defenders. We always have to we have to double him.

*“But Newcastle has an unbelievable offensive quality: Anthony Gordon now they have Anthony Elanga, Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes. It's just incredible what quality they have. We have to defend well as a team. We have to stick together to our principles and then I always can repeat that we are also a strong team with good quality we are able to beat every team in the league in the league.”*
