Silva still sees set-pieces as a big threat for Arsenal

Marco Silva spoke to the media about the specialism **Arsenal**have refined in the form of set-pieces.

The **Fulham**head coach has mostly foiled the threat of the Gunners in their last two trips to Craven Cottage: a 2-1 defeat at the end of 2023 and a 1-1 draw at the end of 2024. However, their most recent visit to the ground saw an equaliser from **William Saliba**through a set-piece routine.

These types of scenarios were a massive bailout for a team that struggled with creativity in open play during large spells of 2024/25 campaign. And they remain an asset thanks to the deliveries of Declan Rice and **Bukayo Saka**as well as the aerial threat of their defenders, especially Gabriel Magalhaes.

“We know they are strong, and for you to be strong in set pieces, then it comes from your culture.

“I think you have to create a culture and but come from the good takers that you have and players able to attack and to have some knowledge about the idea of what the staff want in that moment.

“I think Arsenal they combine very well all those things. They are creative but after they have top takers and guys that they attack the box very well. They have one of the best so far in the league.

“We prepare ourselves not just to defend but to attack in that moment as well like all the teams they are they have they have they are strong in some areas other moments that we want to try to explore.

“I think that it is not new. I think that this is a is part of the preparation for a game and we have to prepare and to be ready for their strengths and try to explore some things that we know we can explore.”
