The Golden State Warriors are waiving a Curry due to salary cap constraints — Seth Curry, that is.
It’s no surprise the franchise had to waive Steph Curry’s younger brother. The Warriors were unable to keep a 15th player on the roster because of the second tax apron.
“The Warriors have waived Seth Curry with the expectation that he will return to the team at some point in the first couple months,” ESPN’s Anthony Slater posted on X. “The Warriors are hard-capped at the second apron and just below it, so the move is procedural. It is anticipated Seth will be back.”

Seth did not appear in a preseason game for the Warriors after being signed.

When Seth returns to Golden State, it will be the first time the Curry brothers have played professionally together since they’ve both been in the league.
Seth doesn’t have his brother’s accolades, but he has carved out a solid NBA career. Over 11 seasons with nine different teams, he has averaged 10 points, two rebounds and 1.9 assists across 550 games. He last played with the Charlotte Hornets during the 2024-25 season.
