Pelicans’ rookie Derik Queen cleared for full basketball activities after wrist surgery

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Pelicans announced Friday that forward/center Derik Queen has been cleared to resume full basketball activities.

Queen underwent surgery on July 18, 2025, to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist.

He sustained the injury during a Pelicans Summer League game on July 15.

The Pelicans open the season Wednesday, October 22 in Memphis against the Grizzlies before returning to the Smoothie King Center to take on the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, October 24.
