Leeds United lost 2-0 to Burnley and Brenden Aaronson missed a huge chance at 1-0 to equalise, which Daniel Farke has since reacted to.
It leaves Leeds United in a difficult position in the Premier League table, with Burnley cutting the gap to a solitary point. The game could have perhaps been different had Brenden Aaronson taken the chance Jack Harrison set up.
Leeds fans could not believe Aaronson’s miss against Burnley. They weren’t the only ones who were critical of him, with Aidy White also blasting Aaronson post-Burnley.
Anton Stach and Aaronson struggled, as the player ratings reflect. However, a number of the playing squad struggled during the worst performance of the campaign to date.

Daniel Farke defends Brenden Aaronson against Burnley
Aaronson’s creative numbers have impressed of late, especially considering he is yet to notch a goal or assist this season. In that sense, he could be labelled as unfortunate.
But he missed a crucial one-on-one in a decisive moment, placing the ball at Martin Dubravka in the Burnley goal. Leeds perhaps needed more goal threat, with that reflected in our predicted Leeds lineup against Burnley.
In the end, Farke’s hand was forced regarding Aaronson’s selection. He has since reacted to the miss from his attacking midfielder, who was featuring down the right flank for the fifth game in succession.
MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES
Per Beren Cross, Farke said: “There was not a clear connection from Brenden. Top, top save, but I would have preferred a different finish. I cannot blame him. It’s not like he did not want to score.
“Maybe over-excited and keen to score the goal. Team needed to be calmer with their chances today.”
Leeds fans won’t see it the same way, given that it came at 1-0. Had it been scored, the game could well have turned after that point.

Leeds had issues regarding chance creation and goals all game against Burnley, but the front three were not the first-choice options and it showed.
BBC’s Jonathan Buchan explained the situation, which put into perspective Aaronson’s Premier League issues. As he explains, Aaronson has just one goal in the English top flight in 44 games.
Leeds United’s starting front three today have 466 Premier League appearances and 84 goals combined.

Harrison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have far superior records, even on a goal-per-game ratio. Leeds need solution out wide heading into West Ham United.
