Ex-NFL Coach Says “The Eagles Aren’t The Same Team” After Back-to-Back Losses

The Philadelphia Eagles lost the last two of their games with the latest one being a 34-17 loss to the New York Giants on Oct. 9. Philly fell 4-2 and is waiting to rebound in the upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

During an appearance on “Pardon My Take” on Friday, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden provided his take on the current scenario of the Eagles squad.

“The Eagles aren’t the same team,” Grudensaid. “The chemistry of the team is not the same. I’m looking around the league, I’m seeing Isaiah Rodgers, Darius Slay, Josh Sweat, Milton Williams.

“Some of their best players on that Super Bowl defense playing elsewhere. They’re not as good because the players that won the Super Bowl aren’t there.”

Concerns about Philly’s dynamic surfaced even before their first loss this season, when they were still undefeated at 4-0 but surrounded by negative rumors.

This is disappointing as just eight months ago, the Eagles won their second Super Bowl in the past eight seasons, and Gruden shared his big take here.

“You don’t stay the same in pro football, you either get better or worse,” Gruden said. “Right now, they’re not as good a team. And they don’t look like they have a great chemistry.

“It just doesn’t look like they care a lot about each other right now. But I’m hoping they wake up and snap out of the funk they’re in. It hasn’t looked good so far.”

However, the promising thing is that the Eagles are still in first place in the NFC East.

ESPN Insider Reveals Underwhelming Situation in the Eagles Squad

After the loss against the Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson said that they are “not very good right now.” Even wide receiver A.J. Brown said they are still “trying to find” their identity this season.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler revealed that he spoke to an anonymous Philly player, and the meltdown following the Week 6 loss is disappointing.

“I was at the game against the (New York Giants) on Thursday night and definitely sensed concern,” Fowlersaid on Wednesday. “One player told me that this is starting to feel like the 2023 meltdown all over again (when Philadelphia lost five of its last six games).

“The team needs to use this week to figure things out and avoid a full-blown repeat. The issue is pretty clear: The Eagles aren’t dominating in the running game the way they did a year ago.”

Philly and the Giants will play once again on Oct. 26.
