Leandro Trossard was in the right place at the right time to score the only goal of the game in a battling performance away to Fulham on Saturday.
The Belgian popped up in the second half to turn home a Bukayo Saka corner, after Gabriel had rose highest to flick it on.
It was enough to earn all three points from a battling performance.
“We’re very pleased with that,” Trossard said afterwards. “We knew it would be a tough game tonight. The worst thing is that they didn't want to press us, so we had to find solutions, especially in the first half. So we're really pleased with the goal and another clean sheet for us.”
It was our eighth clean sheet of the season, from 11 games so far, and Trossard believes that’s down to the work of the whole team.
“I think we're working very hard every single day in training as well. It's a credit to everyone. We work hard to get that reward so it's very pleasing. You keep the clean sheet, we score one on the other end and it can win you the game.”
And it was Trossard himself to grab the goal, his first in the Premier League this season. “I’m very happy with it. Obviously, another corner, I saw Gabi going in the duel. He wins that and I got to the back post for the tap-in. I'm really happy that the ball came to me and I had the last touch.
It's always nice to get on the score sheet and to be important for the team. I want to say that every game is the hardest thing in football, but I try to keep going with the team as well. I'm really happy just to get the win today.”
