Manchester United will be aiming for back-to-back Premier League wins when they face arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow.
The Red Devils returned to winning ways against Sunderland before the international break, but they face a tough outing against the Reds.
Ahead of the game, manager Ruben Amorim has already hinted that Senne Lammens will continue between the sticks at Liverpool.
Belgian outlet Gazet van Antwerpen have reiterated the same and claim that Lammens ‘will be in goal’ for the Red Devils’ Merseyside visit.
They add that the 23-year-old is unfazed by the pressure. As per his former Antwerp teammate Denzel De Roeve, he was not nervous at all before his move to United.
He said: “On the way in the car, Senne was so calm. I asked him: ‘Aren’t you nervous now?’ He replied that he probably didn’t realise it yet, but I know him well enough.
“That was just an excuse for the fact that he wasn’t nervous at all. United is one of the biggest clubs in the world and is also going through a difficult period, but if anyone can handle that pressure, it’s Senne.”
Lammens had a wonderful debut against the Black Cats before the international break. He made a couple of key saves and also registered 11 long balls and 11 recoveries.
The United faithful have already likened him to club legend Peter Schmeichel, and the onus is on him to prove his credentials in the big games to cement his position.
The Red Devils have not won at Anfield since a 1-0 victory in 2016. They have the opportunity to make a statement by ending their long winless streak at the stadium.
Arne Slot’s side will be determined to prove a point on the back of three straight defeats, and Lammens will have a huge role to play for the Red Devils to come on top with a victory.
