Browns' Shedeur Sanders Had 5-Word Response After Madden Rating Drop

The Cleveland Browns enter Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season with Dillon Gabriel as their starting quarterback and a 1-5 record. Shedeur Sanders has still yet to play a snap to begin his rookie year.

While there has been a major split when it comes to whether or not Sanders should be on the field, there still seems to be a good chance that he’ll get some game action at some point. However, for the time being, he is having to wait his turn.

Gabriel has made two starts for the Browns thus far. Things have not gone great, although he hasn’t been bad. Sanders is currently his primary backup and remains one snap away from potentially getting onto the field.

With that being said, the Madden video game made a decision to drop Sanders’ overall rating despite the fact that nothing has changed from the start of the season due to his lack of playing time.

As shared by FootballForever on Instagram, Madden dropped Sanders’ rating from a 67 overall to a 66. Sanders was quick to respond in the comments on the post.

“How Ian even do nun,” Sanders wrote.

Sanders makes a great point. Madden dropping his overall does seem a bit strange since he has done nothing wrong to warrant that drop. Until he sees the field, it would be seem more reasonable to keep his overall rating what it was at the start of the year.

At the end of the day, his Madden rating doesn’t matter. What will matter is what Sanders does when his number is called.

It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for Cleveland. Right now, there has been a lot of talk about the Browns making changes at either head coach or in the front office. Many fans would like to see Cleveland move on from both general manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Add in the fact that the quarterback position still hasn’t been figured out and frustration is growing even more. Sanders will need to be played at some point soon if Gabriel can’t pick up his level of play.

Expect to continue hearing a lot about Sanders moving forward. Nothing is guaranteed, but it is seeming more and more likely that he’ll find his way onto the field before the end of the year.
