Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was fined $12,172 for striking Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr.
The play happened on a run call and Porter and Jeudy were tied up. As they began to hand fight, Jeudy was seen as the aggressor and had a flag thrown on him for unnecessary roughness after the play.
He slapped Porter on the helmet, drawing the flag and the subsequent fine. After the game, Porter admitted he was trying to get under Jeudy’s skin and cause him to snap at some point during the game, but he had to ‘hold that L.’
Meanwhile, Browns tight end David Njoku was also fined $14,491 for an obscene gesture. It happened in the fourth quarter when Njoku got injured, and it is unknown what gesture he made, as it can not be seen on film.
Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen was also fined $23,186 for a roughing the passer call against Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
The play was called a penalty on the field, and it came on a blitz that Queen burst through the hole. With the fine, it was identified as a hit to Gabriel’s head or neck area.
It is not the first time that Queen has been fined this season. He was fined for the exact same type of hit against Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold in Week 2. That time, he was fined $17,358 for a hit to the head or neck area.
