Manchester United’s goalkeeping position has been highly scrutinised over recent seasons, which has seen a number of arrivals and departures of numerous goalkeepers.

Most recently, Andre Onana has departed the club for Turkish side Trabzonspor, while Senne Lammens has arrived from Royal Antwerp.

One keeper who has been at the club for five years but has been praised for his recent performances is 21-year-old Radek Vitek.

The Czechia keeper is currently on loan at Bristol City, who play in the Championship, but he has been nothing short of impressive so far at Ashton Gate.

He has started all 10 of the Robins’ league matches this season, keeping four clean sheets in the process. Bristol City currently sit eighth in the table, one point off the play-offs.

Today, Vitek was in net for Bristol City’s 1-0 away win which came against Norwich City. At Carrow Road, the home of Norwich, the loanee shot stopper made four saves to keep a clean sheet.

Coventry City’s Carl Rushworth currently leads the golden glove race in the Championship, but five goalkeepers are tied in second, with four clean sheets.

One of those is Manchester United’s Radek Vitek.

Czech Republic side Sigma Olomouc overseen the start of his career, before the keeper made the switch to Manchester United at the start of the decade.

He has made three loan spells to date, with those being Bristol City, BW Linz in Austria, and Accrington Stanley who play in League Two.

With the departure of Andre Onana in the summer of 2026 seemingly likely, the future of Altay Bayindir is also unknown, especially following the arrival of Senne Lammens.

Next season, Radek Vitek could be in and around the first team, if he impresses in the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.
