Erling Haaland continued his extraordinary run of form, claiming a vital second half brace to power Pep Guardiola’s side to another three points at the Etihad.
Everton had provided stiff resistance before the Norwegian broke the deadlock with a 58th minute header to find the target for the 11th consecutive game.
And Haaland then made the game and the points safe by striking again five minutes later to make it 23 goals in total so far this season for club and country and 14 for City.
This latest win – which extended City’s unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions – also moved the Blues up into second place in the table.
