Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors is 37 years old, so people are obviously talking about how much longer he has in the NBA.
While everyone would love to see him play for decades more, there is no doubt he’s in the twilight of his career.
Speaking of his future, Curry said that he would like to keep playing into his 40s, but he’s being realistic.
“All I’ll say is that I just want the option and if I’m at a legitimate ability to be able to play… I don’t know if it’ll make sense or if I would want to, whatever the case is. But if I can make the decision and the decision is not made for me, that’s a big point.” Curry said.

So it’s clear: If Curry can remain healthy and is able to keep up with the rest of the league, he’ll keep playing.
His mind is in the right place, and he’s obviously dedicated to his Warriors, but staying in the league is about so much more than just that.
At his age, injuries can flare up out of nowhere, and they might last a lot longer than they would have in the past.
There could be a physical problem in the future that is insurmountable, and Curry has to acknowledge that.
The Warriors would wait as long as they needed to get him back, but Curry wouldn’t want to put his team on the hook for too long.
If his body could not do what he wants, Curry would have to make a very difficult choice.
But he’s not there right now, and is still one of the best, smartest, and most impactful guards in the league.
Last season, he participated in 70 games and averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.0 assists on 44.8 percent from the field.
He obviously wants to keep playing, but Curry knows that it might not always be within his control.
