The Green Bay Packers are 3-1-1 before their contest on the road against the 2-4 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
The Week 7 matchup is crucial for the Packers in the NFC North, as they lead the 4-2 Detroit Lions by a half-game for first place in the division. The Cardinals should be hungry on Sunday, as Arizona has lost its last four games after starting the season 2-0.
Unfortunately for Green Bay, the team is facing a significant distraction before Sunday’s game.
Per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Packers are grounded in Wisconsin, as the team’s plane experienced “mechanical issues” before the scheduled departure. The team has been waiting for nearly five hours past the departure time.
“The Packers have yet to depart for Arizona because of mechanical issues with the team plane, per sources,” Pelissero posted on X. “The delay is now approaching 5 hours, and they're still on the tarmac. Kickoff against the Cardinals is at 1:25 p.m. Mountain time Sunday.”
Per travelmath.com, the flight time from Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Phoenix, Arizona, is approximately three hours and 29 minutes.
It’ll be interesting to see if the delay has any effect on the performance of Green Bay’s players during the game on Sunday.
The Packers should have the advantage in the contest, as Arizona backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett is set to start in Week 7 with Kyler Murray sidelined for a second consecutive game due to a foot sprain. Brissett threw for 320 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Arizona’s 31-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6.
Per ESPN BET, the Packers are a 6.5-point favorite over the hosting Cardinals.
