NASHVILLE - As expected, the Patriots are elevating running back Terrell Jennings to the active roster from the practice squad for the second straight week.
Jennings was on the roster in New Orleans for last week’s win and will be available again for Sunday’s game with the Tennessee Titans. He did not take a snap on offense with Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson get the lion’s share of the snaps.
He was there for insurance purposes last week. With the Patriots looking for a spark in the run game, it’s possible he’ll be more a part of the game plan.
The team also elevated cornerback Miles Battle.
With Christian Gonzalez still on and off the injury report with his hamstring, and Charles Woods listed as questionable, the Patriots wanted reinforcements.
In other news, Stefon Diggs and Harold Landry, who were both listed as “questionable” Friday, were not downgraded. Neither was safety Jaylinn Hawkins.
Diggs was dealing with a chest injury, and while the star receiver was limited during the week, was a full participant Friday. He still received a “questionable” designation, and in a picture released with the team, made the trip to Tennessee.
Landry, meanwhile, didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday with an ankle injury, but was a full participant Friday.
He’s the team’s leading pass rusher, and it’s looking better for him to be active against his former team.
