Brentford will be paying close attention to Liverpool injury updates this weekend.

Brentford will be keeping an eye on Liverpool this weekend as they prepare to face the Reds next weekend. The Bees are not in action until Monday this week, returning to action a little later than the international break when they face West Ham at the London Stadium.

That will afford Keith Andrews the chance to keep an eye on Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday, with the Reds hoping to bounce back from three straight defeats across all competitions having been unbeaten before that point.

Liverpool lost to Crystal Palace then came unstuck against Chelsea, struggling mightily in their two trips to the capital. A rebound will be expected this weekend, and if there is not one, questions will start to appear over whether Liverpool can successfully defend their Premier League title this season, even if is still very early.

The Merseyside club have had a few key injuries, and the biggest of them is goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who suffered an issue during the Champions League defeat to Galatasaray. Alisson will miss this weekend’s game, and it’s not clear whether he will be back for the Brentford game in West London.

"Like I always say, it's so difficult to say because the end phase of rehab can always give you positives or negatives, but he will not play on the weekend and also not next week,” Slot admitted.

Liverpool’s fitness situation elsewhere

Elsewhere, there is better news for Liverpool - and perhaps not for Brentford - with Ryan Gravenberch now back to full fitness. Slot added: “Fitness-wise, I think he's now close to the level he should be and now I think we can judge him in a fair way from now on.”

On Alexander Isak, who has not been particularly sharp since arriving from Newcastle United, Slot continued: “Ryan is completely fit, although we still have to train twice. But if you ask me now, he is completely fit."

Brentford injury latest

On the Brentford front, there is mixed news, with Aaron Hickey “back on the grass”, while Reiss Nelson and Gustavo Nunes have both played for the under-21s, suggesting they could well return for Liverpool.

On the downside, Antoni Milambo is going to be out for the season after rupturing his ACL. Bees boss Andrews said: “He's obviously very down. It's devastating for him, first and foremost. He's at a new club, settling into a new country as a very young player that we have high, high hopes for. Suffering an injury of that level is obviously very disappointing, but the one thing he knows is that he will get a lot of support here and time to heal."
