£30m star returns, Amorim makes 2 changes: Predicted Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Liverpool…

Manchester United take on arch-rivals Liverpool on the road in today’s Premier League clash.

The Red Devils returned to winning ways against Sunderland before the international break.

They will be aiming to continue the momentum against Arne Slot’s side at Anfield today.

United have not won at the stadium since 2016, and have the opportunity to end the streak.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Senne Lammens had a wonderful league debut against Sunderland in the 2-0 win. He made three saves and delivered 11 long balls alongside 11 recoveries. He should continue in goal ahead of Altay Bayindir.

Amorim has already hinted that the 23-year-old will start between the sticks, and the same has been conveyed by Belgian newspaper Gazet van Antwerpen ahead of the much-awaited derby.

In front of him, manager Ruben Amorim should go with an unchanged back three. Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw should start on either side of Matthijs de Ligt in the heart of the Red Devils’ defence.

Amorim may want more defensive assurance against the Reds despite their vulnerability at the back. Diogo Dalot could move to right wing-back today. Patrick Dorgu could return on the opposite end with Amad Diallo dropping down to the bench.

In midfield, it won’t come as a surprise if Casemiro is dropped for Manuel Ugarte in the number six role. Casemiro was on international duty during the break and played 90 minutes against South Korea and Japan in a couple of friendlies for Brazil.

Ugarte, on the other hand, was not picked in Uruguay’s experimental squad. The £30 million-rated star should be fresher than Casemiro. Amorim could prefer his higher mobility and work rate, just like in the Manchester derby last month.

Bruno Fernandes should accompany Ugarte in the centre of the park. In the final third, no changes are expected. Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount should line up as the attacking midfielders, with Benjamin Sesko leading the line for the club.

Matheus Cunha is knocking on the door, but Mount’s goal at Sunderland should get him the nod. Mbeumo has been United’s best attacking outlet in the early weeks, and looks poised to continue in the XI for the north-west derby today.
