The stats explain just how frustrated Leeds United’s players and Daniel Farke will have been in the dressing room after leaving the Turf Moor pitch on Saturday afternoon.
A 2-0 loss to Scott Parker’s men, the first time Leeds have faced another of the three promoted sides from the Championship this season. Lesley Ugochukwu and Loum Tchaouna got the goals for the home side.
Burnley limited Leeds to just one point from a possible six during last season’s Championship campaign and it proved equally frustrating for Leeds and Farke yesterday. Leeds dominated the match and the stats.
Farke said after the game that it would be a struggle to find an away side with better stats and failing to win in the Premier League. Leeds had an XG of over 2.5, 19 shots to Burnley’s four, and four big chances.

Micah Richards sums up what every Leeds fan will be thinking
Fans will be waking up on Sunday morning, frustrated and concerned that Leeds have now lost four of their eight Premier League games. A second defeat in a row. But there are plenty of positives to take.
Especially, given Leeds were without Noah Okafor and Willy Gnonto, and Dan James was only just back from injury. Micah Richards understood just how exasperated Leeds fans were on Match of The Day.
“Leeds were excellent apart from putting the ball in the back of the net. They dominated, Burnley stayed in the game. They took their chances, Kyle Walker with a great cross, and the second one, what a strike.”

Alan Shearer also gave his take on Leeds’ defeat to Burnley
The annoyance from a Leeds perspective will be, that Saturday’s fixture will have been seen as one of the most-winnable games Leeds could have away from home this season. Burnley will be right down there.
As could Leeds. Many saw Saturday’s game as a big one in the fight for survival, and Alan Shearer said that home form will remain key for the three promoted sides. Sunderland beat Wolves on Wearside.

“If you look at the stats, that won’t bother Burnley because it’s similar to that in the Championship. They’ll need to carry that on. Their home form will be key, as it will be for every promoted side,” Shearer said.
Leeds only have to wait until Friday night before they are in action again, another massive game against Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham under the lights at Elland Road. Then Brighton and Nottingham Forest.
