Losing 3-0 to Chelsea was the straw that broke the camel's back for Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis as he decided to part ways with Ange Postecoglou. The club's decision maker-in-chief swiftly sacked the Athens-born 60-year-old after the match and TNT Sports presenter Jules Breach has now revealed what happened in the tunnel just minutes before he was given his marching orders.
Postecoglou's men were the much brighter side in the opening 45 minutes at the City Ground but finding the back of the net remained their biggest issue. The second half was a completely different story with Enzo Maresca's Blues finding their feet and scoring the opener in the 49th minute through Josh Acheampong.
Pedro Neto then doubled the away side's advantage before Reece James added a third and Marinakis, who is certainly a divisive figure in football circles, believed that Postecoglou – who succeeded Nuno Espirito Santo in the hotseat – was no longer the man for the job. Postecoglou's 39-day tenure was cut short with a 39-word message from the club, who had impressively secured European football under Santo last season, after the match. "Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The Club will make no further comment at this time."

It was eight matches without a win for Postecoglou, who won the Europa League final with Tottenham Hotspur last season, and that was deemed poor enough by the club higher-ups. He was given his marching orders shortly after Forest had just faced a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the west London outfit.
In the immediate aftermath of Postecoglou being given his marching orders, TNT Sports reporter Jules Breach explained the club's decision was confirmed as she was conducting her post-match interview with Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White.

"Despite the fact there was so much noise about this potentially happening before the match, I still think the timing and the way this has happened has surprised everyone, certainly down in the tunnel and obviously the dressing room as well," she said.
"I was interviewing Morgan Gibbs-White about the match when the news dropped. That's when we found out Ange Postecoglou had been sacked as Nottingham Forest manager.
"In that interview, Morgan Gibbs-White said that Ange Postecoglou addressed the players in the dressing room and just talked about how frustrating it was that he can see improvements, the team can see improvements and progression, but they just weren't putting the ball in the back of the net and were conceding sloppy goals."
Breach claimed that Gibbs-White and Co were still believing that Postecoglou would come good. "Gibbs-White's opinion was that he still had full faith and the team had full faith that Ange Postecoglou could turn things around, so in terms of what the players might be feeling, they might be quite surprised this news has happened.

"Just after the inerview, Gibbs-White was taken back into the home dressing room and soon after they were all taken to the boardroom, where I imagine there will be quite a long meeting happening now," she said as the Premier League came to terms with another managerial sacking, which is Forest's second of the campaign.
Breach added: "From what we saw down in the tunnel, prior to that interview happening, Ange Postecoglou went into the home dressing room, spoke to the players and then actually went down to the other side of the tunnel area. We saw him come out of there and Edu was also in the corridor at that time.
"Ange Postecoglou left with a bag on his back and went out towards the car park. At that point, it seemed the writing was on the wall but it wasn't until a few minutes later when the news was confirmed. Ange Postecoglou's backroom staff are still here, as far as we are aware, Ange Postecoglou has already left the stadium."
According to GIVEMESPORT senior football correspondent Ben Jacobs, Forest have made contact with the out-of-work Roberto Mancini, while Sean Dyche is also in the frame. The latter wants a long-term contract but Marinakis is playing hardball. Fulham boss Marco Silva is also a manager the club appreciate.
