Nick Woltemade took to social media to express his disappointment after Newcastle United’s defeat to Brighton.
Woltemade scored a brilliant goal for Newcastle against Brighton but, sadly, it was not enough for Eddie Howe’s side.
A Danny Welbeck brace, scored either side of Woltemade’s goal, inflicted a first Premier League away defeat on Newcastle United this season.
It was a familiar afternoon for Newcastle. Their record at the Amex Stadium is incredibly poor, while former Sunderland loanee Welbeck seems to love scoring against them.
In truth, it wasn’t a brilliant game for Woltemade up until his genius flick. Starved of service, the German international produced some nice touches but could not get into the game too often.
Naturally, Newcastle’s club-record signing was disappointed.

Nick Woltemade sends message to Newcastle United supporters
It’s a shame that his brilliant goal will largely be forgotten. It was a unique finish and the sheer variety of the five goals he’s scored for the club is impressive.
On early evidence, he’s got it all to his game.

However, he cannot do it all alone. Having finished almost every chance he’s been provided with thus far, it’s incredible to imagine what he could when the team are fully functioning.
Taking to social media platform Instagram, Woltemade said: “Not the result we wanted. Time to bounce back.”
Nick Woltemade’s agents vindicated after Newcastle United talks
Woltemade’s agents were impressed by Newcastle’s transfer talks, and were pleasantly surprised by their willingness to alter their style of play to get the best out of him.
To say the move has worked out would be an understatement, at least on an individual basis.
Clearly, Newcastle are still working to adapt to having a completely new striker in the team and their other forward options are struggling. Until they click, a lack of goals will continue be an issue as a collective.
Woltemade, however, is doing better than expected at this early stage of his Newcastle career.
