The Gunners had not won at Craven Cottage in their last two trips to the ground, drawing 1-1 in 2024 and losing 2-1 in 2023. A tight encounter was on the cards, and a win was not likely to come without its challenges for the guests. Ultimately, they are glad the fine margins were in their favour.
“We knew it would be a tough game. The worst thing is that they didn't want to press us, so we had to find solutions, especially first half. We're really pleased with the goal and another clean sheet for us.
“I think we're working very hard every single day in training as well. It's a credit to everyone. We work hard to get that reward so it's very pleasing. You keep the clean sheet, we score one on the other end and it can win you the game.”
“I’m very happy with it. Obviously, another corner, I saw Gabi going in the duel. He wins that and I got to the back post for the tap-in. I'm really happy that the ball came to me and I had the last touch.
“It's always nice to get on the score sheet and to be important for the team. I want to say that every game is the hardest thing in football, but I try to keep going with the team as well. I'm really happy just to get the win today.”
