Sean Dyche is reportedly in advanced talks over becoming Nottingham Forest’s new head coach.
Dyche was linked with the job before Ange Postecoglou was ruthlessly fired by Forest eight games after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo.
Evangelos Marinakis got rid of Postecoglou a matter of minutes after the final whistle was blown at the City Ground on Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Dyche, 54, is the favourite to replace Postecoglou and become the club's third manager of the season.
Sky Sports report that Dyche is in advanced talks with Forest over the vacancy but add that ‘other candidates have not yet been ruled out’.
One of those candidates is Premier League-winning boss Roberto Mancini. Mancini has been out of work since leaving his job as Saudi Arabia national team coach last year and hasn’t worked at club level since 2018.
Fulham boss Marco Silva offers an alternative Premier League proven option to Dyche, but he would come at a cost.
Dyche, who left Everton in January, is viewed as a safe pair of hands for the situation Forest find themselves in near the foot of the Premier League table.
